Hinter Spank Rock stehen Naeem Juwan (MC Spank Rock) und Produzent Alex Epton, den man auch als Remixer von Björk unter dem Namen XXXChange kennt. Außerdem hat bereits Boys Noize ihren Track "Energy" produziert und sie waren schon mit M.I.A. oder Beck auf Tour. Genug mit dem Name-Dropping.

Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit kündigte Björk ihr neues Multimedia-Album "Biophilia" an. Wie jetzt herausgesickert ist arbeitet die Isländerin wieder mit Michael Gondry für ihr neues Album-Artwork zusammen und die erste Single "Crystalline" wird bereits Ende diesen Monats erscheinen und zu jeder Single von Biophelia wird es eine App geben. Neues Album + Shows: Björk

Bjork.com veröffentlicht Neuigkeiten über das neue Album der Isländerin "This summer, Björk introduces Biophilia, an extraordinary immersive project and her most ambitious work to date. The multi-media endeavour encompasses her music, installations and live shows, and celebrating the use of modern technology by utilising the internet. The project aims to explore ideas like how sound works, the infinite expanse of the universe, from planetary systems to atomic structures."

Laut Pitchfork finden zum Album auch Shows im Juni/Juli (bisher nur) in Manchester statt und Björk setzt auf viele neue Instrumente wie "a bespoke digitally-controlled pipe organ; a 30 foot pendulum that harnesses the earth's gravitational pull to create musical patterns-- creating a unique bridge between the ancient and the modern; a bespoke gamelan-celeste hybrid; and a one-off extraordinary pin barrel harp."

Nach den Shows in Manchester wird sie mit Biophilia durch weitere große Städte rund um den Globus ziehen. Lasst uns alle mal hoffen, dass uns die Dame auch in Berlin beehrt!
